Áine grew up in an English speaking house in county Clare. Summer holidays were always spent in Inis Oírr (Aran Islands, Co. Galway) and this exposure nurtured her love for the Irish language. Áine's university days consisted of her further enriching her passion for Irish. Áine graduated from NUI, Galway with a MA in Irish, Higher Diploma in Irish translation and a BA in Irish. She is also a qualified primary school teacher and obtained her degree from Mary Immaculate College.
Having sat both Junior and Leaving Cert exams, Áine understands the concerns students have when it comes to prepping for state exams. She has over 10 years' experience tutoring students - one on one and group classes. Áine has spent many Christmas and Easter breaks teaching intense revision courses for higher level Junior and Leaving Cert Irish at a private tutoring school. These courses resulted in excellent feedback and students ended up joining Áine's weekly Irish classes.
Áine possesses invaluable knowledge of the Junior and Leaving Cert marking schemes. Her approach guides students on how to best answer questions based on the marking scheme. This straight forward approach will result in a more relaxed and prepared student on exam day.
While teaching in a Gaelscoil in Dublin, Áine held night classes for parents. These classes catered for beginners and advanced adults. Áine has spent summers teaching in an Irish Language College for Adults where she taught many classes for beginners. Áine has lots of experience in teaching adult students from all over the world. This has gifted her with an in-depth understanding of what adults struggle with when wanting to learn Irish. Áine has regularly held classes for those wanting to focus on their conversational Irish as well as those eager to improve their written and grammatical knowledge of the Irish language.
Another passion of Áine's is attending to the whole person in everyday life and also when learning a new language/studying for an exam. As human beings, we all learn best when in a safe and stress-free environment.

She prides herself in providing a high level of student support throughout each class and course. A safe space is created that fosters an effective learning environment.
I attended Áine’s Leaving Cert Higher Level revision course just before i started sixth year. Throughout sixth year the advice and tips I received from the course proved invaluable. During my mocks and Leaving Cert my study notes were simple and clear on account of this course. Áine was friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. I would credit this course with helping improve my grade between fifth and sixth year.
My son attended a Junior Cert revision course with Áine. He found the course to be excellent and asked if he could return and attend Áine's classes for Leaving Cert!
I was brand new to learning Irish but Áine made the process easy. You’ll quickly see how much she cares about your education and is willing to go the extra mile. To this day, I remember some of my favorite lines like Tog go bog e — really only good memories of Áine’s class.
I was repeating the Leaving Cert as a mature student and desperate for help. I found Áine through a recommendation and learned so much from my classes with her. Clear, concise yet effective notes. She also have the patience of a saint!!
I love Gaeilge with Áine because she is fun and I get to colour. I know lots of Irish words. We make up songs together and I sing them for Mammy and Daddy.
